BlackWood is as dark and twisted as evil can be. Since so many people with BlackWood souls way back in the fourteenth century were hunted down and slaughtered for having associations with Satan, this type of soul is almost extinct. There is only one living thing today that has a BlackWood soul. That person is Mila Wintercrest herself. BlackWood is the dark form of the WoodWind soul, but for unknown reasons, it is impossible to become BlackWood for any amount of time from WoodWind. Many rituals have been preformed in a foolish attempted to become BlackWood from WoodWind, all resulting in death and life-long curses. Some of these curses, depending on how well the ritual was, continued on past life on earth and effected the victim's after life. After having a conversation with a friendly dragon that had meet Mila, I learned a few facts about the BlackWood soul. Like WoodWind, they will not harm animals. Their ideal environment is in a dark, preferably foggy forest, far away from other humans. If they were to spot a human of any kind trespassing in their area, the trespassing human is guaranteed dead within seconds. That is how territorial they are, and they show the same anger towards humans harming animals. When they are away from their preferred environment and are around other humans, they will do everything in their power to stay away from them. To put this simply, leave them alone. Not like you will ever meet anyone with a BlackWood soul, as there is only one left on this earth. The only thing this soul likes about humans is one of the musical instruments they play. According to Leviathan, the dragon I spoke to, BlackWood souls for some odd reason like the sound of a Shimmering Flute. I personally think the reason is due to WoodWind soul origins. Those souls seemed to like listening to the flute as well. While BlackWood souls prefer the dead-silent, eerie forests, a Shimmering Flute seems to calm them when they are angry, and even halts them in the middle of attacking. Who knew that a simple musical instrument could be their greatest weakness? We will never find out..
